Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of ShhhType (“the App”, “Service”), a voice-to-text desktop application developed and operated by Genesis 1 Technologies, LLC (“Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a limited liability company organized under the laws of North Carolina, United States.

By downloading, installing, or using ShhhType, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

There is no minimum age requirement to use ShhhType. However, if you are under the age of 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

2. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use ShhhType on devices you own or control, solely for your personal or internal business purposes.

3. Subscription and Pricing

3.1 Free Trial

New users receive a 7-day free trial with full access to all features. No payment is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial period, you must purchase a subscription to continue using the App.

3.2 Subscription Plans

  • Monthly: $20.00 USD per month
  • Yearly: $200.00 USD per year

Prices are subject to change with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be honored at their current rate until the end of their billing cycle.

3.3 Billing

Payments are processed through LemonSqueezy, our third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you also agree to LemonSqueezy's terms of service. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled.

3.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to the App until the end of your current billing period. No partial or pro-rated refunds are provided for the remaining period.

4. Refund Policy

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee from the date of your initial subscription purchase. If you are not satisfied with ShhhType, you may request a full refund within 30 days of your first payment by contacting us at help@shhhtype.com.

After the 30-day period:

  • No refunds will be issued for monthly or annual subscriptions.
  • Refunds are processed to the original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to appear.

Refunds do not apply to renewal charges. If you do not wish to be charged for a renewal, you must cancel before the renewal date.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App;
  • Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the App;
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the App;
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations;
  • Distribute, sublicense, lease, rent, or lend the App to any third party;
  • Use the App to process audio recordings of individuals without their knowledge and consent where required by law;
  • Attempt to circumvent any licensing, security, or access control mechanisms;
  • Use the App in a manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair any third-party services the App connects to (including Groq API).

6. Intellectual Property

ShhhType, including its code, design, logos, trademarks, and documentation, is the exclusive property of Genesis 1 Technologies, LLC. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

You may not use the ShhhType name, logo, or branding without our prior written consent.

7. Third-Party Services

ShhhType integrates with the following third-party services:

  • Groq API — for cloud-based speech transcription and AI text rewriting. Your use of cloud transcription features is subject to Groq's terms of service and privacy policy.
  • LemonSqueezy — for payment processing and license management. Your payment transactions are subject to LemonSqueezy's terms of service.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services. We do not control and are not liable for any actions or policies of third-party service providers.

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of ShhhType is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure;
  • Transcription results will be accurate or complete;
  • The App will be compatible with all hardware or software configurations;
  • Defects will be corrected in any particular timeframe.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL GENESIS 1 TECHNOLOGIES, LLC, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Genesis 1 Technologies, LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination:

  • Your license to use the App is immediately revoked;
  • You must uninstall and destroy all copies of the App;
  • Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 9, 10, 11, and 14) will survive.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms within the App or on our website at shhhtype.com. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Genesis 1 Technologies, LLC regarding your use of ShhhType and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
